Local Horsham scene ...

Mgr Graham Leonard RIP

Graham Leonard was a distinguished Anglican bishop.  In 1993 he became a Roman Catholic - the first diocesan bishop of the CofE to do so since the Reformation.  He was ordained a Catholic priest in1994 and, some years later, created a Monsignor by Pope John Paul II in recognition of his previous ministry.  As a Catholic priest he was immensely happy.  He died yesterday - the old feast of the Epiphany.  It seems fitting that he should approach the possibility of his rest and reward on a day committed to a celebration of Christ as light of the nations.  Please pray for the repose of his soul and for his wife and children at this difficult time.  May he rest in peace.

SJV Group celebrate

A few members of the parish vocations group came together this evening to welcome home Jins from university.  A very informal evening, just for the sake of gathering together, also brought a surprise for the Parish Priest who was presented with a birthday cake and 'submitted' to a rendition of 'Happy Birthday'!  That was quite something ...

These delightful lads are a credit to the parish and we're all very proud of them.  Who says that young people don't take their faith seriously?

Be assured of our prayers, Father.

Amazing, or what?  The best, I venture to suggest, in the whole Diocese.  Thank you, ladies!
